RESEARCHING DESIGN IN THE INTERNET

Description. This course begins with a quick fundamental review of the use of Internet as a research tool. Then the participant will have opportunity to work a as team to define areas of the Web relevant to design and the best and fastest methods to access these. Participants are assigned design and the best and fastest methods to access these. Participants are assigned design related research problems that they can solve using Internet search engines. Outputs and experiences are shared and actual designs made. By the end of the course, the participants will improve their understanding of the role of Internet research in design activity.

Objectives.
1) To review use of Internet as a research tool for design
2) To identify areas of the Web relevant to design
3) To widen the exposure of the designers to design the activities and trends worldwide
4) To solve design related problems using the Internet
5) To create a simulated environment where the participants design an object by first identifyinf information gaps then filling these information gaps with information derived through Internet

Output. Written reports, downloads, design proposals
