EFFECTIVE BUSINESS WRITING

Rationale. Writing effectively is a critical business skill that contributes to success on the job. Your writing is a reflection of you and of your business. One of the primary measures others use to gauge your competence is the effectiveness of your writing.

This course is designed to help you through practical techniques to efficiently produce clear, well-organized, and professional e-mail, memos, letters, and reports. Numerous exercises provide hands-on practice.

Objectives. At the end of the seminar, participants will be able to:
  - Describe the process for producing written business communication;
  - Identify primary information and focus readers' attention on it;
  - Use a writing style and tone appropriate to the intended audience and
    subject matter; and
  - Produce effective written business documentation that consistently
    achieves the intended impact.

Methodology.There will be discussions, practice sessions, and exercises -all designed to assist you in creating documents that communicate in the most appropriate way.
