The
Advanced and On-the-Job/Production Related Multimedia Training
Program is a collaboration of the Japan Media Programming
(JAMP), the Confederation of Scientific and Professional Organizations
(COSPO), the Philippine Council for Advanced Science and Technology
Research and Development (PCASTRD). It is intended to accelerate
the development of the multimedia production manpower of the
Philippines. Implementation of the project was facilitated
with the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment through
DOST-PCASTRD funds.
Experts
from JAMP conducted the training under the management support
of COSPO and DOST 7. A total of 375 persons were screened
for the training program and 106 passed. All of the 214 completed
the training course and are now working as multimedia creators
or programmers. Forty (40) trainers were also developed under
the program.
With
this critical mass of 214 persons, the multimedia industry
in Cebu is rapidly growing. With the completion of this project,
the multimedia training program can be sustainably continued
under the auspices of COSPO, JAMP and DOST 7.
