Advanced and On-the-Job/Production Related Multimedia Training Project

The seventh batch of multimedia trainees together with DOST 7 Regional Director Rene Burt Llanto (far right), COSPO President Jose Mari Bigornia (1st row, 3rd from right), COSPO Vice-Chairman Enrico Flores (far left) and JAMP Manager Takeharu Yakumaru (2nd row, 2nd from right)

Rationale
The project is a result of early negotiations in 1995 between the DOST and a leading Japan-based multimedia software development company, the Japan Media Programming, Inc. which wanted to conduct multimedia software development activities in Cebu.
Unfortunately, during the time, the nation did not have adequate personnel for multimedia software development. To develop this manpower, this project was created. DOST-PCASTRD would provide funds for training equipment; JAMP would provide the trainers as well as access to the production facilities; COSPO would manage the training and develop a mechanism that would sustain the project beyond the two-year project period; DOST 7 would coordinate the entire project.
The project aimed to develop a critical mass of highly trained multimedia software production manpower with the following minimum target outputs:
        - 72 highly trained multimedia creators, specialists and planners
        - 6-12 trainers on advance multimedia production
        - conduct 6 courses on advance multimedia software production
          (including on-the-job training )
        - pursue multimedia sofware production activities, conduct 2
seminars on multimedia software marketing and contracting.
